Firm on the ground, he was standing there in that seashore for a long while. His eyes were fixed somewhere on the turbulent ocean or just above the water. What was he thinking, what was he going through - no body knows. One may look at something and may go through something else. No one knows what the other person actually goes through. Nobody can perceive it. Only the person behind the eyeballs knows what he goes through. He was in his own thoughts and own world.
“Indian epics say that Kubera owned this country once upon a time, such a beautiful country, so much greenery, the best blend of Tea in the world….But why is that it became a permanent war ground? Isn’t there a way for peace in this land? Their great-great-great grandpa was also born here, left his breath in this same land. Like the other majority of community, the native Tamilians were also born here, brought up here and lived here. Isn’t that their land too? And let them live in their space, it is their country too. They are also son of this soil! Why can’t these people understand this…” – He might have gone through this, it’s my perception, who knows? He was in his own thoughts and own world. But he came back to the world, when some one said – “Anney… you have got a call from Sachin Tendulkar”!
Dhamodaran couldn’t believe it initially and ran towards the phone. He had no choice but to believe when he listened to Sachin Tendulkar, the legend of Cricket world and player from the neighbor hood country saying, “I need a personal help from you. You know we are here in your country for the match happening in this period. I want to practice. I know you are great in leg spin. Can you come to the practice ground and help me for my practice please?” You know what that local player called Dhamodaran would have gone through, when he listened this from somebody called Sachin Tendulkar! And those few days of practice periods were etched in gold in the life of Dhamodaran.
Sachin Tendulkar - A player whom the whole world looks up to, a player whose place cannot be replaced for sometime at least. What might be his PASSION towards HIS cricket? Standing firm and tall in that position, and still like a student searching for possibility on improving himself and wanting to give his best performance. What would be his homework to find out ‘There exists a local team player called Dhamodaran in Columbu, he is very good in Leg-spin”? What would be his PASSION towards his game? Oh is this the reason for him to stand on top?! Hey reader, Are you in line with me, Are you also thinking.. “ oh … What might be his passion, Is this the REASON FOR him TO STAND ON TOP?” ?
I just want to say, None of the media were interested to cover this incident and story.. All of them were busy with something else. It came in a regional weekly magazine in ‘one and half’ line like in the size of ‘ Thirukkural” ( I would have smiled, if it was in the size of “ naaladiyaar”).
But there was an other news about the same so called Sachin Tendulkar a couple of weeks ago. None of the media missed it. Websites, news magazines, weekly magazines, children magazines, newspapers and everybody covered…“1983 World cup was won by Kapildev and team. That huge celebration attracted the 10 years old boy Sachin Tendulkar, which made him to turn towards cricket. Otherwise, world might of missed a legend.” Everybody focused on “THE REASON FOR THE ENTRY” of Sachin Tendulkar.
Let’s leave the media. Let’s focus on ourselves. By focusing of the reason for entry, I will know how he came into that. I would accumulate some information about him, I can share in some forum and show I know more things life. But what would happen to my life? Will it improve anything in my life, except I grow more head weight? But on the other side, by focusing on the REASON FOR STANDING ON TOP, something about my life may get changed, I may learn something and grow out of it. My life may take a complete turn, who knows? Just seeing the play of Harichandra drama changed everything about a boy and Mahatma was born.
The question I am asking my self, The question I am asking you to ask yourself is, “ where am I focusing? Am I focusing on the RESON FOR HIS ENTRY or RESON to REMAIN ON TOP?”
By keep on talking or reading… “ He waited in the lobby of IBM, waited…waited…waited…. No more he could take and resolved….A Bill Gates was born ” – What will happen to us? What is his routine now, how is he able to match the world’s growth, how is that whatever he initiates becomes a trend for the whole world, what is that he has in him that made him to make such deal with FoxPro, Samir Battia and all others things to acquire all those stunning products into Microsoft, and Microsoft remains Microsoft with acquired products? I think these questions will trigger something in me and put me on the right road.
Rather saying, “I know that, he started it in a three bed room flat. That’s how he comes”, I think we should focus on ‘how a man called Narayanamurthy made such a honest organization called Infosys?” It will do something in us.
Keep on saying, “The family was dying for bread and butter. He has to do something for survival and thus he RAN”, will not help me on any aspect of my life. But if I think “What made that athlete called Usain Bolt to run in such a lighting speed in 100 meter dash of the recent Olympics happened in China ?” , I may grow out of it.
Let the media do what they want to do. Let me not focus on “THE RESON FOR THE ENTRY” and Let me focus on “THE RESON FOR BEING ON TOP”… I will grow out of it. I will be on top.. I would love to say what Zigzigler said… “WANT TO SEE YOU AT THE TOP..”. I am on my way, are you joining?
